  New explanation of Gog of Magog: Two Gogs?

  i just finished watching the recording of the talk at the annual meeting that re-explains gog of magog.

  i caught something not previously talked about, that i can recall.. gog of magog is thought to be a coalition of nations that attach god's people during the great tribulation.

  this is from ezekiel 38 & 39.. gog and magog in revelation 20 represents those with the same attitude as gog of magog.. thus, the new teaching (maybe not new, but i'll have to research this) is that gog in ezekiel is not the same as gog in revelation 20. two different gogs, happening about a thousand years apart.. .

  reading the oct 1 1953 wt about gog of magog because of the posts about the changes of identity.. basic question:.

  why would satan (whether gog or not) be cast to the earth?.

  why not cast him to quadrant 4 of the galaxy?.

  George W. Bush was instrumental in opening up the money channel to religious institutions, although the defined Church and State aspect of the US Constitution is pretty clear. With that in mind, those religions that enjoy the financial blessings of their affiliation with the government, and that would be all of them, should be required to uphold certain standards for civil and human rights.

  If the Bible says that being "gay" is wrong and "gays" are not welcome at that church, fine. If you believe the Bible then that is your perogative to listen and accept. The church is simply repeating what their "good book" says, most who attend would probably take exception with it anyway. If the Bible says that being "gay" is wrong and the church condemns the "gays" with hate speech and a call to arms against the "gays" then that church is far from 1) Christian and 2) an entity deserving of ANY tax exempt consideration or governmental financial support....

  Let's Say 1914 Was The Establishment of God's Kingdom....what is the significance?

  as hillary clinton might say, what difference does it make???.

  even if god's kingdom was established in 1914, why is that such a big deal?

  other than unprovable actions in heaven, what can jws say is the significance of it all...with a straight face?.

  This weeks #2 & #3 talk on homosexuality

  after a one year sucessful fade and no longer associated with any congreation, i was visiting my sister this week (who goes to the meeting to please her husband for now; i am slowly planting seeds though) and they decided to year this weeks midweek meeting via the telephone.

  since i was a guest in her house, i sat with them in the living room to hear the meeting.

  to my surprise (especially growing up as a gay jw with still alot of anger in my heart over how i was treated), the talks 2 and 3 where on, of course, homosexualiy.

  I have said this before on another topic for those that have a real problem with "the gays" as my MIL calls them.

  If you can tell me why you are attracted to blondes over brunettes, then tell me.

  If you can tell me why you are attracted to one body type over another, then tell me.

  If you can tell me why you are attracted to the color red over the color blue, then tell me.

  If you can tell me, then you probably don't have any issue with "the gays" (thanks MIL...hilarious) because you realize that most attraction is chemically based and functions on a cerebral level that you have no real control over.

  If you can't, then you are just plain ignorant and a bigot... i.e. " a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions." (Webster's)

  Thanks for your comments, I can see the wisdom and depth of perspective in each. I have read similar threads, but with all the newbies floating around this board, just wanted to know.

  I know for myself, it was a perfect storm of tragedy, marginalization, insincerity, and absurd adjustments that were "evidently" the truth all along, which, of course, meant that everything believed prior to that was essentially apostasy to the real "truth." God! what foolishness!

  I have found that people who excessively condemn anything are hiding something, similar to the American Beauty experience.

  I have been in congregations where the zealot against drinking was a drunk, the zealot against pornography was an Internet freak, and the zealot against all things "gay" was a closet homosexual.

  not big arguments...but more of a bickering.. you see, over the last year i have stepped down as an ms and we moved halls.

  last november was around the time i woke.. during this time we still have family studies....but only from the bible.
